IN THREE DAYS I WILL BE IN THAILAND!

OKAY, MORE LIKE FIVE WITH THE TRAVEL TIME (omg BITCH of a long flight, fuck...) BUT STILL

*dances absolutely everywhere*

Yeah, well, I'd totally go to toronto, quebec, and (thunder bay cause it looks pretty) at the very least. So it's all within the easten half. XD

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*snort* I was born near thunder bay. Had a lot of family there. It's pretty sweet, very laid back, last time I was around there.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah? XD That's cool. I'm kidnapping someone from up there. It was sposed to be the other way around, but i figure since I'm older, I should prolly take the initiative. XD It's all for the pilot's license though, really. *Shallow*

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it as easy to become a pilot in the states as it is in canada? Because I had a girlfriend who could fly at age 15

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I don't know for sure. He had his at 16ish, i think, though. I expect that it's similar, I've heard of people getting them young ish. Maybe not 15 though.

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess it makes sense that you can fly before you drive. I mean, it's not like you're going to run into anything, right? And it probably makes for very cautious drives.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess, but if you do run into anything, it's a bigger disaster. o_O

But yeah, I could see the last bit. I avoided learning to drive as long as possible. Learning to fly is scary. Of course, I love being on planes.

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I still haven't yet. Probably by the end of the summer. I've been ABLE to for ages, though. I guess with no car I haven't seen the point.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah...I'm 21 almost 22. Can drive, just haven't gone to take the test

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
*nod* Hopefully this summer, as I said. But our city has a brilliant bus system so it's great.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Ours isn't too bad. I just don't get the ones that vary in cost dependin on time of day and how far you go. seems confusing.

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Once I start work I'm just getting myself a pass, and that's it. Be SO Much easier. Ours are generally around two or three bucks with a three hour transfer

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, ours is 1.50. Just went up recently. And its 1.50 with or without transfer. Though they are only like 2 hours. All day passes are 3 bucks.

With my student ID, however, I get to ride free.

I was afraid I had lost my ID saturday though. D: We had a huge liberal festival thing and I was there ALL DAY. I couldnt find the ID on the way home. Finally did, but that was scary since it saves me 3bucks a day going to work.

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, ours is Canadian money, which is cheaper, of course.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
A little, yes, but not as much as it used to be. :D? I'm not sure whether this is good or bad. XD

At least the few dollars canadian that I have laying around may be worth keeping track of one of these days. :P

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
*snerk* I think it's good... but then, I'm biased.

Meh. Economy is shitty right now. *ignores* *wanders off to live in Morocco*

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Morocco, eh? I wouldn't have thought of that. Then again, I'd live in Russia, which is worse really, so I'm prolly not the one to follow if you're looking for a good economy. XD

And all my friends here inna states are failing at job hunting. Stupid Bush!

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*wince* Yeah. Not looking forwards to that. Leave me my bookstore and student loans for now, please.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Yeah, my loans finally tracked me down about 5 months ago. Been paying them back since. Not very quickly, but every little bit hurts. >_<

I want a new job, but I'm dreading looking for one. I hate the application process.

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
*nod* I'm working on it. And hopefully won't go TOO far into debt. Will turn out alright, I guess. We're travelling with the thai ambassador's daughter this trip so it's fairly cheap. Still not great, though.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, neat. What are you going for?

Yeah, I don't worry about student loans, because they do prorate them to what you can afford. Sure I may be paying them back for a long time, but I think the education is worth it. The current ones bug me though because I don't really have any credits. >_<

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
We're teaching english as a second language in an orphanage in Cheng Mai. Will be SO COOL.

I'm due for a lot in bursaries, lucky, and my important grades (drama, english, history) are nineties, so we'll see if I get scholarships. I'm applying a lot of places and seeing if anyone offers anything.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
How long are you gonna be there again? And do you have to know their language for ESL? I have friends who have gone to teach English in Japan, but I think they were English classes in schools, which might be a little different. All I know is that they had to speak Japanese. Dude, I can speak English, I'll go teach, if it will get me out of here.

Awesome. Yeah, I was paying $125 a quarter with grants and such, but when I had grade issues at Uni, that kinda went out the window. Now I'll have to reapply, hope for scholarships, and hope the grant people forgot that I totally failed the first time. *Shakes fist at mother*

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
*nod* I don't speak a word of Thai. But there're only little kids so it'll be mostly numbers which we can do with out fingers, and little things like that.

Not too hard. We're there for three weeks.

Man, that sucks, ow. Good luck!

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Gotcha. Still cool. And you'll prolly learn a bit while you're there too, which is always awesome. *Jealouses some more*

3 weeks. Not bad. Too much longer and it might get old, but that'll be fun. Do you get to be touristy too?

And yeah, thanks. I really still need to decide what my majors are gonna be when I go back though. >

[identity profile] knights-say-nih.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
We do indeed. Weekends and a couple of days at the end. We're teaching in two places, too, so there aren't even that many lesson plans needed.

[identity profile] piobaireachd.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Neat. I soo want to hear about it afterward!

I don't know much about Thailand, admittedly, so it will be the awesome.

:D
