It'll largely end up being Santino. Random needs to be in the front seat, and needs to have Santino in a seat with a view (non-tinted) and close enough that he doesn't have to strain to hear him giving him directions.

Which means they'll need to hit up a motel or something somewhere along the line. If only for RANDOM to sleep.

How long do we want the trip to take?

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Dude. Make it mammoths.

I think there also needs to be a small dragon perched on the hood of the car at one point. So they can all sit and stare. And stare. And stare. Until Ramon reaches forwards, and slams on the horn and the thing bolts and they gun the motor and GO.

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm - how long would be appropriate, you think?

(I now have a mental image of Random waking up, and coming out of the motel to find Mal and Santino looking extremely guilty, standing next to the minivan.

Which seems to be halfway through a wall.)

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
The main problem I foresee with this trip is that Random, feeling how he does about Santino, will be reluctant to show him his abilities.

Except in that case, he'd look at them both, say 'screw it' and just fix the thing. Wall and minivan both. And then walk away, muttering profanities.

Dude, it so has to happen.

I vote four days until further notice?

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I can't say no to mammoths and small dragons, can I?

Ahaha, we're going to have Sands and Ramon together in a confined space for what seems to be a rather long drive. Things will be interesting.

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Random will just eventually hand Mal a rolled up newspaper.

Also, possibly, scream "SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP" at one point, as he needs to concentrate to get them moving in the right direction, and by that time will be tired.

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds good!

I'm going away on the sixth, back on the...fifteenth, I think.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
*snerks* You never know, the trip may be a Bonding Experience for Sands and Ramon.

... I mean, we've got mammoths. Stranger things have happened ¬_¬

(Speaking of which, WE SHOULD HAVE A JURRASIC PARK MOMENT! They're driving along what seems to be a nice, normal road, when- oh, what's this? A curious rumbling in the distance!

Next thing they know, velociraptors are racing the van! *dramatic chord*)

Oooh, they should go to Discworld too. Like, Ankh-Morpork or something.

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Sweet. Then how about tomorrow I set out the ooms we need to happen, and we devide up who wants what to happen in their journals?

If we do it all in Dworkin's, we don't have to bother with filters, as it's not commonly friended, but that's up to people.

Then the actual fight can be real-time, and we can put up the car-ooms afterwards as we go along.

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I LIKE this idea.

Except they should be unrecognizable animals, seeing as Random would take them anywhere and everywhere.

Possibly Jabberwocks.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
... you win.

So how long is this trip? Is it two there and two back?

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. Three there and one back. Take longer to do all the looking than to dart back to the bar. It's not a matter of retracing the same route, if he's not having to tune the compass to Santino's instructions Random will be much better.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Aaah, hokay, makes sense. Sands is not going to be in a good mood when they find him, after three days stuck in a desert.

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
More like two, if you knock him unconscious for one. Although maybe three, while Mal gets the Minivan Rescue Crew together for him. Hmmm.

Time travelling with Dworkin is FLUID though, so it could be a lot less than that. Up to you.

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds just peachy!

(And campfires. Marshmallows and s'mores and campfires.)

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't mind Sands being in a bad mood! He'll be all the more pleased to see them after two/three days inna desert. Which would be NICE and CONSTRUCTIVE.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
(WTF are s'mores anyway?)

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
D:

They are good.

First, you get a graham cracker. Then, you put some Hershey's chocolate on the graham cracker. Then, you toast a marshmallow and stick THAT on the cracker. Then you get another cracker and make a little sandwich.

Is heaven.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
The day I eat Hershey's so-called chocolate will be a very sad day indeed XP

However, I may experiment with Galaxy.

[identity profile] underwater-owl.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. Here, as I see it, are the threads that should go up as we want them;

The Fight
(Can this be on a monday) Dworkin, Sands and Santino travelling
Mal recruiting Ramon (hopefully in Random's presence, to minimize thread timing)
Mal recruiting Santino, at Random's behest
Sands OOM re: desert
Lawrence OOM re: finding Sands
Day 1
Day 2
Sands and Lawrence bitching
Day 3
Finding Sands
Ride Home

And all the mini threads we want to do of obstacles and so on should be rationed up between the days.

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds just fine to me, then.

[identity profile] wanttobeatree.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fine with me too!

[identity profile] silverpenlight.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
...hang on a tic. Did you say something about having contacted Alex, or was I supposed to and *cringe* never did?

[identity profile] pointed-spoon.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Lets try to assign which ooms happen in each journal.

Dworkin's is open for group stuff, which saves time on filters, as no one reads his.

[identity profile] pointed-spoon.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Who wants which ooms in which journals?

Dworkin's free for group stuff, as not commonly friended.
