Fucking hell.
I'm waiting on phonecalls for two jobs (receptionist and bookstore salesperson) and from one guy who I actually don't know if I want him to call me or not.
Because I spent a lovely evening with him and he stood with me at the bus stop and likes Shakespeare and we talked for at least a half hour about science fiction (Philip K Dick, Orson Scott Card, Heinlein, Asimov, and Larry Niven) and had pizza. And then at the end of the evening he put his arm around my shoulders and we stood together till the ride came.
So AFTER all this my friend and I leave the group (was a group thing) and get into the car and THEN she tells me he's considered a little strange and has trouble because he likes to grope women and all the girls are a little nervous of him.
So, basically, I want details from someone who knows him more than second hand, want to stop freaking out about actually going out for an evening with him if he does call (he seemed to really sincerely want to- gave me his number too) and so on. AND find out if I'm going to be a receptionist or not. Or a book clerk or not.
What's crappy about it is I'm really clueless about dating, just in general. I'm shit at picking up signals people send me, so although I didn't get a gut feeling about him, that doesn't really mean much.
The best advice I've had so far is go out for a date if he calls, keep it in public places, establish very clear boundries and don't let him kiss me until we've known each other a while.
My solution? Accept my mothers invitation to head out of town this weekend. I'm going up to my cottage with a few Johnny Depp movies and a bathing suit, and I'm going to eat and be merry and not check my phone messages until monday. From ANYONE.
(even if he did tell me to remember his name because it was Mal like Malcolm Reynolds when I forgot it over the course of the play. *lesigh*)
