I think that's sort of the case. Like, he put his arm around me a little bit early. I think I said something cheerful like 'and my lovehandle likes you too, Mal,' which made him back off a bit immediately.

He's at a bitch of a rough school though. I'm leaning towards the poor social skills explanation, which is good because it doesn't really bother me.

If he phones back, I'll give the girl from his class whom I know a call, as better safe than sorry, and I'm generally completely clueless about shit like that.
