This is like, a double meme.
1)
Concrit. Stop by if you think I'm doing anything wrong you've wanted to talk to me about for pointed_spoon, _to_the_bone, underwater_owl or not_a_wizard.
If you're rational/nice about it I might even listen!
2)
The Question Game. Any question, personal, happy, embarassing, sexual, pointless, whatever. Comments screened and anony-enabled so no need to be embarassed.
This is how painfully bored I am.
*lesigh*

Date: 2006-04-28 02:02 am (UTC)That said.
And I'm brain-dead and curious.
Why'd you start RPing Random? And where does his user name come from? Okay, two questions, but...see comment on brain-deadedness.

Date: 2006-04-28 02:16 am (UTC)Well, the gist of it is that I was introduced to Milliways through Adiva. I chose Random because I was absolutely in love with the character, much more than I ever cared about Corwin. My first choice was someone who was already claimed, though I can't remember who now... But the minute I saw that Random was free I lunged for him.
His username comes from an amusing twist of fate coupled with total incompetance. When I started Milliways I had no idea how to RP. Nor what on Earth livejournal was. So when it said 'type in username' I just sort of blinked at it. And thought it meant my name. So I typed in an old pseudo I'd used a while back from when I used to be into fanfiction.
It was only AFTER Random was accepted that I realized it was going to pop up absolutely everywhere. And then I swore fluently but it was too late. It's not a case of Mary Sue-dom where I named my character after myself.... I just honestly didn't know what I was doing.
On the other hand, I half like it. When I first adopted it it was, I think, in brutal honesty, because of a Harry Potter fic called 'Underwater Light' that got imprinted in my mind, though I didn't realize it at the time.
Now I just say 'It's something random' and shrug it off with a grin. Such is life.

Date: 2006-04-28 02:31 am (UTC)And Christ, I'm amazed I survived. Thankfully Adiva walked me through most of it, and by then I'd been in chat for a couple of weeks and knew enough people to be able to jump in..... though to my trauma my initial entrance post went untagged.
And then so did the tag I gave to the first person I got up the courage to bother... my first thread was with Hannibal Lecter. My second was with Asmodean. Then Duo Maxwell. Then Garion and Yrael. And from there I don't remember.
Auspicious beginnings, huh? I don't think it actually helped all that much. I was new and much too eager to impress. Probably hurt my quality with anxious gimmicks and stuff, you know?
I still make a point of tagging entrance posts that haven't been touched yet.

Date: 2006-04-28 02:40 am (UTC)*nods* I don't remember him much, just the icon. I sadly have a thing against picture icons, though. *looks rueful* Bad habit, I know.

And that's not a BAD thing, really.

Date: 2006-04-28 02:43 am (UTC)I spent a long time searching though. Including looking at Steve McQueen.

Date: 2006-04-28 02:48 am (UTC)And I think David is perfect, even though I still have an impulse to call him 'Diver Dan'. Random in my head speaks a lot faster then Diver Dan does, Dan has this slow, sardonic drawl happening.

Date: 2006-04-28 11:40 am (UTC)Jack was a different story. I saw the pb on a research project about ballet and looked at him and went 'oh WOW he'd make a great Jack Frost' without even having wanted to app the character. Then the next day I was working on icons.
Rasputin as Dworkin... I think that was Madb's doing, though I don't really remember how.
