If it was dangerous enough, that could knock off Ramon's lifedebt. And it could be Mal helping Sands. Which is the kind of NICE CONSTRUCTIVE thing that's good for people. Heck, if she was hurt in the effort, we could even get Random shoving her into Sands' arms and saying 'if she gets shot, it's YOUR FAULT, now get into the van' while pulling out a gun to give them a bit of cover.

I'm up for it!

I don’t know quite what he’d be doing or why to get in such a situation… although, I do have some OOM sekrit plot stuff that it could kind of fit into. But that’s not for a while yet.

And I'm sure it could fit in SOMEHOW.

Except, obviously, Ramon.

*loves on Sands* Random wants to shoot him back, but I love him.
And as I said. Dworkin would do it just because.

a) want to rescue Sands
b) have his logic/control COMPLETELY FUCKED OVER by the sight of blood
c) react by dragging Sands bodily into something very not good, likely. And possibly Santino too, before shooting him back to the bar. That way, Random would get the description he'd need to be able to pattern walk to wherever Sands is.

Dworkin would be BRILLIANT, yes!
(And if we went down the Satan path instead, Sands has the whole owing Satan for the gun thing. If Stan got bored of waiting for Sands to repay him, he could take matters into his own evil hands.)

*nod* I'll talk to Write about it. It could be cool. Possibly using him to instigate violence somehow. Slash, Dworkin crazies.

Shh, I don't have to be up again in...six hours. Really!

Timezones providing.
And I have a basic working summary right below this.

The thoughts we'd had;
Santino, who does not LIKE Sands even one little bit, finally gets into a confrontation with him.
Possibly with someone else's help, (I'm considering Parker when he gets back, Hallia likes the idea of Stan, Susan's gone to bed and can't give imput...) the situation Escalates until there is blood.
Dworkin: BLOOD ARGH OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!! *freaks out, grabs Sands and Santino and drags them off to god knows what shadow, through fog and fire and just generally having a mental breakdown trying to make them stop. Eventually dropping Sands somewhere where Santino SEES what the surrounding is like.
Santino gets brought back to the bar.
Mal: *unhappy*
She'd go to Ramon as part of the life debt for getting him back. Except probably to get him to do something shitty and dangerous and go get something nasty to scry for her to find Sands.
Random points out that HE could do it.
Buuuuuuut needs Santino.
Thus, Mal, Random, Ramon and Santino in a minivan slash whatever, all out on the road to rescue Sands.
The PROS of this are that Random, in shadow shifting, walks them through any number of universes.
Which could be WHATEVER the muns like.
Mwahahaaha!

Dworkin could drop Sands ANYWHERE, and he'd likely do it somewhere odd and empty.
Like the desert at sunset.
So if Lawrence was the one to find Sands they could have stuff going on there (either of Sands bitching or Sands unconscious and dehydrated, your choice, Susan) and the two could be out in the middle of nowhere with no access to a door to get back to the bar and TELL Mal that they're alright, so the rest of the Minivaners of Doom (tm) go out to get him ANYWAYS...
So I just like the idea of a minivan in the world of Lawrence of Arabia. So sue me. *snicker* But that works, as it's more clear Dworkin isn't leaving him to die. They just THINK he is because death isn't in immediate sight.
no subject
I think I'd have to have Sands unconscious at first, just so Lawrence could find him like that. Because that would be a moment of pure wtf. Then he could wake up and be bitchy! Best of both worlds!

In specific bits, one or another of the people could get out of the minivan to find a corner store for cigarettes, a bathroom, fast food service, whatever, and THAT way there could be interactions with loads of people if we wanted.

Random's travel magic is born of his ability to and success in walking the Pattern. Which is the blueprint for the universe. He can go anywhere, and because everything exists in some form out there, his travel is limited only by his imagination.
If he can picture it happening, it can come true. He also has limited control over what he calls Shadow, in walking between them, he can use the places where the edges bleed a little and do things like restore a room that had been trashed to its immaculate state beforehand, or suddenly make rocks that weren't falling before a little more inclined to tumble. 'Shadow' for him is what we know as 'matter.'
It runs in his family. Julian, for example, likes to make horses. From scratch.
Powerful little buggers, and they generally doesn't let on, either.
