Date: 2006-07-23 03:16 pm (UTC)I think I'd have to have Sands unconscious at first, just so Lawrence could find him like that. Because that would be a moment of pure wtf. Then he could wake up and be bitchy! Best of both worlds!

Date: 2006-07-23 03:32 pm (UTC)In specific bits, one or another of the people could get out of the minivan to find a corner store for cigarettes, a bathroom, fast food service, whatever, and THAT way there could be interactions with loads of people if we wanted.

Date: 2006-07-23 03:56 pm (UTC)Random's travel magic is born of his ability to and success in walking the Pattern. Which is the blueprint for the universe. He can go anywhere, and because everything exists in some form out there, his travel is limited only by his imagination.
If he can picture it happening, it can come true. He also has limited control over what he calls Shadow, in walking between them, he can use the places where the edges bleed a little and do things like restore a room that had been trashed to its immaculate state beforehand, or suddenly make rocks that weren't falling before a little more inclined to tumble. 'Shadow' for him is what we know as 'matter.'
It runs in his family. Julian, for example, likes to make horses. From scratch.
Powerful little buggers, and they generally doesn't let on, either.

Date: 2006-07-23 11:58 pm (UTC)Perhaps he made mine. HAS JUST GOT BACK FROM SHOW YES.
And agree. To everything, whee! Sounds v. v. fun.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:25 am (UTC)Random: Take a left here.
Santino: Fine fine-- woah. What is that?
Random: Run it over run it over run it over run it over RUN IT OVER RIGHT NOW
Santino: I'm trying, I'm try--
THUNK
Random: I think you got it. Okay. Like I said. Take a left here.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:36 am (UTC)Oh, yeah. This has totally turned into minivan-plot.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:41 am (UTC)It will be less of the crack when Sands is actually in TROUBLE, I imagine.
But still.
So, we have everyone we want so far settled to jump in. I think the best way to do it would be to set out exactly the threads we want/need, and set them up locked for slowtime commencement as soon as possible (Write's working, I'm starting work, Alex's in Australia...)
Also, encourage offshoots. One blanket post of in-the-car threads, a few offshooting conversations to be tagged in whenever people can manage or feel like.
Also? As of now we should all start writing ficlets, amounting to getting out at the bathroom in a world with blue sand and yellow sky. Or a thoughtful description of eating in silence at a place that serves Kentucky Fried Lizard Partes. Get your character's presence/oppinion well established.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:44 am (UTC)Oh, and I think someone needs to try and teach Mal how to drive.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:50 am (UTC)Which means they'll need to hit up a motel or something somewhere along the line. If only for RANDOM to sleep.
How long do we want the trip to take?

Date: 2006-07-24 12:53 am (UTC)(I now have a mental image of Random waking up, and coming out of the motel to find Mal and Santino looking extremely guilty, standing next to the minivan.
Which seems to be halfway through a wall.)

Date: 2006-07-24 12:55 am (UTC)Except in that case, he'd look at them both, say 'screw it' and just fix the thing. Wall and minivan both. And then walk away, muttering profanities.
Dude, it so has to happen.
I vote four days until further notice?

Date: 2006-07-24 01:03 am (UTC)I'm going away on the sixth, back on the...fifteenth, I think.

Date: 2006-07-24 01:06 am (UTC)If we do it all in Dworkin's, we don't have to bother with filters, as it's not commonly friended, but that's up to people.
Then the actual fight can be real-time, and we can put up the car-ooms afterwards as we go along.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:39 am (UTC)Also, they should go to Africa and be stampeeded by elephants! I can't actually think of any pups who are in Africa, but it would make me giggle.

Date: 2006-07-24 12:51 am (UTC)I think there also needs to be a small dragon perched on the hood of the car at one point. So they can all sit and stare. And stare. And stare. Until Ramon reaches forwards, and slams on the horn and the thing bolts and they gun the motor and GO.
no subject
Date: 2006-07-24 12:56 am (UTC)Ahaha, we're going to have Sands and Ramon together in a confined space for what seems to be a rather long drive. Things will be interesting.
no subject
Date: 2006-07-24 01:02 am (UTC)Also, possibly, scream "SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP" at one point, as he needs to concentrate to get them moving in the right direction, and by that time will be tired.

Date: 2006-07-24 01:06 am (UTC)... I mean, we've got mammoths. Stranger things have happened ¬_¬
(Speaking of which, WE SHOULD HAVE A JURRASIC PARK MOMENT! They're driving along what seems to be a nice, normal road, when- oh, what's this? A curious rumbling in the distance!
Next thing they know, velociraptors are racing the van! *dramatic chord*)
Oooh, they should go to Discworld too. Like, Ankh-Morpork or something.
no subject
Date: 2006-07-24 01:08 am (UTC)Except they should be unrecognizable animals, seeing as Random would take them anywhere and everywhere.
Possibly Jabberwocks.

Date: 2006-07-24 01:18 am (UTC)So how long is this trip? Is it two there and two back?
